Cold War Kids are one of our favorite bands to see live and over the last few albums, have really been developing their strong, unique sound. We’re expecting a new album from them soon but for now, here’s a new song from Cold War Kids: Miracle Mile.

Lady Lamb the Beekeeper, aka 23-year old Maine-bred, Brooklyn-based Aly Spaltro, is releasing her debut album, Ripely Pine, next month on Ba Da Bing. Following up “Rooftop,” one of Ripely Pine’s more accessible songs, we present the fierce and fiery style which truly sets Miss Lady Lamb apart with “Bird Balloons.” Lady Lamb‘s unhinged performance style – intense guitar strumming, spitting out lyrics, melodies following a strange internal logic- come to the fore here; she careens from hums to screams within seconds, but always under artistic -control. Ripely Pine captures the wondrous magic of Lady Lamb the Beekeeper‘s live shows, while keeping her songs’ stark rawness. No song shows this better than “Bird Balloons,” premiered via Consequence of Sound this morning. Take a listen below and experience Lady Lamb at her best and boldest.
Tom Odell is a young, hot voice out of the UK getting a lot of hype. There are four tracks on his debut EP and they range from averagely resonant to rivetingly sad. His crooning, sweet voice is accompanied by his delicate piano playing with the combination overflowing with emotion. Take a listen and decide for yourself!
One of the best new albums of the year: Bat For Lashes – The Haunted Man. Beautifully sung and emotionally raw. A mush have album.
Bat for Lashes first captured hearts way back in 2006 with a set of distinctively haunting and darkly phantasmagorical songs ripe with magic realism. Natasha Khan as a unique song writing talent and one who is paving her own way. Bat for Lashes returns with her long awaited third album The Haunted Man via Parlophone.
